Using a Kettlebell to Improve Thoracic Rotation

February 16, 2022

Lets talk about the mid back or thoracic spine for a second. The thoracic spine is comprised of 12 individual vertebrae in between the neck and low back. Without adequate mobility in this region, compensations can occur in the low back, neck, and shoulder complex. Doing so increases strain and risk for injury in these areas.

Simply put the T-Spine is designed for mobility! Flexing forward, twisting, and extending backwards are all important motions of which it is a significant contributor.

Rotation specifically is a large component of most sports and even daily life! Today we cover how to add light load with a kettlebell or dumbbell to basic thoracic rotation drills to increase their productivity and your ROI!
