Group Training

At Empower U we thrive on the adage “knowledge is power” and our courses provide just that. Our 4 group courses are booked by a company or gym (such as those conducted with our partners in health) with up to 25 participants for a one hour course that is performed at the company’s location. All equipment is provided by Empower U and all that is required to host a class is an open space for individuals to move freely. Each group course is designed to improve pain and dysfunction in a specific area of the body and paired with a functional movement that is most beneficial to that muscle group or area. Courses can be mixed and matched for pain management and its functional movement.

Golfers Strength & Mobility Program

Join performance physical therapist and TPI certified, Jake Tuholsky for a golfers strength & mobility program. This winter-based program includes strength and conditioning work for golfers of all levels. Over six weeks, starting Monday, February 12th and ending on Thursday, March 28th. golfers will improve their strength, mobility, maximize their performance, and focus on injury prevention. The program will take place at The Empower U headquarters every Monday and Thursday morning from 6:0 to 7:00 am. We will take the week of March 4th off for Spring Break. The program costs $390 + tax but all Empower U clients get a discount with code “EMPOWERUCLIENT”. Plus, Golf Addiction is offering $10 off the Good Morning Pass to all the participants.  It is normally $75 and allow the golfer 1hour of simulator use Monday – Friday between 8am -Noon for 30 days. Runners Focused Workout

We will be hosting bi-weekly workouts at Empower U geared towards runners. This will take place every other Saturday morning starting at 9:00 am and go for an hour. We will focus on strength, conditioning, and injury prevention specific to runners. The cost is $20 per workout or $15 for students and coffee will be provided. We encourage you to head over to the 605 group run and then join us for a workout after at Empower U.

Common questions about our group classes:

What course is the most popular?
The Pain Management & Functional Movement for low back pain and the functional squat is currently the most requested course for each site at this time. This is followed up by our shoulder and mid back pain course and the Turkish Get-Up.

Who would benefit from these courses?
The youngest we have had in our course is a 14-year-old female who was having hip pain during cross country events, while the oldest was an 86 year old who had difficulty with typical everyday tasks of grabbing items off of the top of a shelf. Our courses offer a variety of techniques for strength and mobility with modification geared towards ALL populations. Each course is limited to a maximum of 25 participants to ensure quality of material where everyone has some type of hands on experience by the course instructor.

How far do you travel?
Currently the furthest Empower U has traveled is 6 hours or near 400 miles from Sioux Falls. We do charge mileage for anything greater than 70 miles from Sioux Falls at the IRS minimum at the time of when booked. If able to, we attempt to find our own housing to keep cost as low as possible when traveling to further locations. Locations which we do not charge for housing are: Spearfish SD, Rapid City SD, Omaha NE, Kansas City MO, Minneapolis MN, Denver CO.
