When dealing with shin splints, there are many contributing factors to why this pain may occur. Running mechanics that can influence the stress that we put on our shins.
A narrow stride width when running can contribute to an increase in “tibial bowing” or stress that causes lateral displacement of the shin bone resulting in stress towards the inside of the shin bone.
