Acute Low Back Injury: Now What?

Whether you just recently deadlifted 450 lbs or picked up a kids toy off the ground, sometimes low backs can flare up. The smartest thing to do is to go grab a bag of ice and rest for the next week, Right? WRONG!

When you have an Acute low back flare up the best thing you can do is …MOVE!

When the low back muscles are in spasm in response to an injury, the best way to reduce pain is to do as much Lumbar Range of Motion as tolerated. In today’s video we highlight three exercises for you to try out. Work on progressively increasing Range of Motion to tolerance with each exercise and taking brief walks throughout the day and see how much it helps!

The Low Back Exercises Shown Include: Self Lumbar Decompression, Cat/Cow, and Lower Trunk Rotations
