Numbness in hands and fingers is a common symptom for a lot of people. Whether it be while typing at work or waking in the middle of the night to your fingers buzzing, it is a frustrating problem to deal with. Often times people get told they have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and immediately consider surgical options. However, a conservative, comprehensive treatment approach can often help alleviate and rid these symptoms. The following three exercises for hand numbness focus on relieving these symptoms.
As with many ailments, the root cause of numbness in hands and fingers is often not local to the site of pain or discomfort. When we look at the bigger picture, and assess possible poor desk bound posture and shortened muscles on the front of the shoulders, we quickly find areas that can entrap nerves that require adequate space and mobility.
Here are three effective exercises for hand numbness that address typical mobility deficits. As always, if you have questions please feel free to reach out to us here or request an appointment here.
