Get to know Nathan

I’m Nathan LeMaster, founder of Empower U. Born and raised in the Sioux Falls area, it’s been a rewarding journey to build a business that serves the community I grew up in. Launching Empower U in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic, was a bit of a wild ride, but it was driven by the belief that there’s a gap in healthcare for people who want more out of their lives and bodies without jumping straight to surgery, imaging, or injections.

I’ve always been drawn to working with people who understand that taking charge of their health isn’t easy, but it’s worth the grind. That’s what led me to focus on sports and orthopedic injuries. At Empower U, we start by using heavy manual therapy and dry needling to tip the scales in the client’s favor, then guide them toward self-management with mobility and strengthening work. I’m a firm believer that physical therapy shouldn’t just be about feel-good techniques—it should challenge you, push your limits, and yes, maybe leave you a bit sore because that’s how real progress happens.

Outside of the clinic, I’m a husband to my wife Jordan and a dad to our three kids. We’re big on family trips, movie nights, and getting outdoors to stay active. Personally, I’m all in when it comes to football (Cowboys and Longhorns all the way!), lifting weights, running, and checking out different gyms around town. And when it’s time to unwind, a solid movie night never disappoints.
